History

The United Kingdom has played an important role in music in contemporary and modern eras. In the 20th century, influences music from American became more popular in music. This led to British music that includes the New Wave of British Heavy Metal and Britpop. The United Kingdom is one of the worlds largest music industries today as many British musicians have an impact on modern music. A example of a traditional instrument is the bagpipes.

The United Kingdom had gotten their literary traditions from England and Scotland. The traditional folk music of England genres were mostly sea shanties, jigs, hornpipes and dance music. The United Kingdom was one of the two main countries in the development of rock music and well known global acts such as The Beatles, Queen, Elton John and many more. It has also provided inspiration for many modern bands of today.

Introduction

United Kingdom.


The country, United Kingdom, is a sovereign state located off the north-western coast of continental Europe. The country includes the island of Great Britain, the north-eastern part of Ireland and many smaller islands. Northern Ireland is the only part of UK that shares a land border with another sovereign state-the Republic of Ireland. The United Kingdom consists of four countries: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
